Lake Verea is a duo of artists, formed in 2005 by Francisca Rivero-Lake Cortina (born in 1973 in Mexico City, Mexico) and Carla Verea Hernández (born in 1978, in Mexico City, Mexico), who live and work in Mexico City, Mexico. Francisca studied art history at the Universidad Iberoamericana de Mexico, while Carla Verea Hernández studied photography at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York and later earned a degree in Communication Sciences at the Universidad Iberoamericana de Mexico.
